The forces of light and the forces of darkness have always been fighting against one another. One thing everyone has noticed through this unending war has been they have never fought each other directly. There have even been myths of the two standing side by side as an epic battle raged before their eyes. But one thing has always been true: they have always had five fighters apiece regardless of gender, age, or even species.

You wake up one morning in a hospital you don't recognize. The nurses say you're very lucky to be alive after that demon attack. Each one is worse than the last. They don't know how you survived. As they speak, there's a loud explosion. Another demon attack, they say grimly. They happen every day. You can see multicolored lights near the explosion, something that looks like the inhabitants of town fighting back. It's somewhat effective, but it's obvious it won't be enough.

That's when you hear running across the roof and a girl jump down. She's joined by a boy jumping down from the building next to the hospital. They're dressed like typical magical girl/boys, but their faces look so sad and lonely...
